This roof was completed in conjunction with Permanite, and carrys a permanite guarantee. 2006 and Raynormastic install a permaphalt (permanite backed) polymer-modified mastic roof upon the Nottingham City Council House Being the main contractor Raynormastic first had ensure the safe erection of scaffolding, efficient delivery and removal of skips, plus remedial works.Finally the roof was removed and renewed.
A vapour barrier is installed. Then insulation is applied. On top of insulation is laid a polymer based mastic asphalt roofing membrane (see picture opposite)
	Baz applies a mastic asphalt skirting to a roof light. All tools used are hand made out of wood. Each spreader will shape their handles to fit their hands. The type of wood used for a float is also a personal choice, although mahogany is a very good hard wood for mastic asphalt. This is because the natural oils found in the wood stop the asphalt from sticking to the wood.
Finally the mastic asphalt roofing is coated in solar reflective paint. The view is also fantastic.
